Erik Vhon’s Backstory // Design

First, I will start with Erik’s backstory. His Character Design is above.

[WARNING: THIS BACKSTORY IS VERY LONG]

2005: Erik was nine years old when he finally had the opportunity to go to his parents lab. Teachers and classmates constantly asked him what it was like to have parents that were scientists. His answer of course was either a shrug or ” They aren’t around much… ” Erik got dressed and grabbed his stuffed tiger, he was ready to go. He waited by the door for his parents when his Mom dragged a suitcase out of his room.

“Alright Erik, I know we didn’t tell you, but you’ll be spending the week at the lab. Mr.Rizzo will watch over you.” She smiled and dragged the suitcase over to Erik.

“But Mom, where are you going? Why so long? Who is Mr. Guy named after an Italian brand!” Erik wanted to cry.

“Erik, dear, don’t worry! We are simply taking a trip to Australia, there are a few other scientists we would like to meet. As for Mr.Rizzo, we work with him! He is a wonderful person, you two will get along just fine, trust me.” She ruffled his hair, making him giggle.

They had finally made it to the lab. To Erik, this was the longest 45 minutes of his life. His parents set him up in their office, pushing the desks back and creating a mini room for him. Erik wasn’t too sure about how he felt. His parents said their goodbyes and finally left. Erik suddenly felt lonely, so he decided to look for Mr. Rizzo, bringing his tiger with him.

“Ah! You must be Erik!” Mr. Rizzo yelled, making Erik jump “Oh! Hahah. Did I frighten you? Scusami little one. ” He smiled.

Erik was already scared of this man. He didn’t trust him one bit. He noticed Mr.Rizzo looking at his tiger.

“So you like tigers?” Mr.Rizzo smirked.

Erik already felt uncomfortable and it was only his first day at the lab.

Day 2:

Erik woke up, and was surprised to see a plate of food on one of the desks. He got up and noticed a note next to the plate:

“Enjoy the food Erik! Come into the Animal Storage Room when you’re finished. I have a surprise for you.”

Erik suddenly became worried. He wondered what was going to happen to him. Certainly nothing bad, right? He ignored the thoughts and ate the food. He headed down to the ASR and saw that Mr.Rizzo wasn’t there.

“You came!” Mr.Rizzo jumped in front of Erik.

“AHHHHHH!” Erik jumped back and Mr.Rizzo laughed.

“Anyways, I have a surprise for you. You seem quite eh… solitario. So! I give you the gift of a lonely animal.” Mr.Rizzo handed Erik a small bird.

It sat in his cupped hands so gently, not making a sound. He touched its soft feathers as it stared into nothingness. He felt no connection to this animal, no love. He wanted nothing to do with the sad bird.

“Love it? I figured you wou-” Mr.Rizzo was cut off.

“I don’t like it. I don’t want it. Take it.” He handed the bird back to Mr.Rizzo and walked away.

Erik ran off to the office and cried. He wanted his parents back, he wanted to them to get rid of that awful scientist and his dumb bird. Eventually, he fell asleep, and dreamed of the bird.

Day 3:

Erik woke up in a sad mood. He ignored the plate of food on the table this time and left. As he walked past Mr.Rizzo’s desk he noticed multiple tiger pictures, along with the disassembled tiger plushie. Erik couldn’t believe he stole it from him. He hated this man even more.

He spent the next three days avoiding Mr.Rizzo and his birds. He would try to talk to him every now and then, but Erik would walk away. Every night he cried, wishing his parents would come home already. He never ate the food that was given to him, he made his own food. Which was mainly cereal and sandwiches.

Day 7:

Finally! The day Erik had been waiting for! His parents were finally coming home! He waited by the door all day, staring at it. He heard footsteps behind him, but ignored it, knowing who it was. Suddenly, he was grabbed and dragged along the floor. He squirmed and yelled, but nothing happened. He heard Mr.Rizzo grunting as he dragged him. Erik was sure he was going to die, but somehow, he wasn’t scared. He just didn’t want this guy touching him. He heard the door hit the wall as he was thrown into a chair and tied down. Mr.Rizzo opened a case full of syringes, knives and multiple other tools. He continued to struggle and scream. Once Erik realized he wasn’t making any progress, he gave up. He didn’t care if he died, death never bothered him, he never thought about it. Mr.Rizzo took his time picking out which instrument to use first. Erik watched his every move hoping he would hurry up.

“Would you hurry up please? You kinda take too long.” Erik rolled his eyes.

“Your not scared? You could get hurt! Or worse, you could morire!” Mr.Rizzo shouted.

Erik sighed and looked away, his words weren’t going to do anything. While Mr.Rizzo was getting prepared, Erik began to think, and him thinking was never good. He wondered where he went wrong. Were his parents doing this a punishment? Or maybe they didn’t know, and Mr.Rizzo has something against nine year olds.

“I’m ready Erik.” Mr.Rizzo smirked as he grabbed a syringe.

“Finally, jeez. I’m not a very patient child….. What’s in the syringe old man?” Erik questioned.

“Don’t worry about it, this clear liquid won’t harm you in any way, I think. I’m simply conducting an experiment, that is my job you know.” He suddenly became quite sassy.

“Whatever, you’re not sticking that in me!” Erik suddenly became frightened.

Mr.Rizzo held Erik down as he stuck the syringe into his arm. Erik screamed in pain as the liquid was released inside of him. He began to cry so Mr.Rizzo wiped away his tears.

“Awww don’t cry Piccolo” Mr.Rizz chuckled. “Here, drink this and you will fall asleep very easily. “

He forced open Erik’s mouth and poured the liquid inside. Erik tried to spit it out, but he wouldn’t let him. So, he swallowed it. Shortly after, he fell asleep.

When Erik woke up, he found himself inside of a cage. It was clearly meant for dogs, not humans. He grabbed the bars and screamed, hoping to grab Mr.Rizzo’s attention. He continued screaming for quite a while until finally, he walked over.

“I’m tired of hearing you scream! What do you want child!?” Mr.Rizzo sounded frustrated.

“Let me out! I’m not a dog!” Erik shouted.

“You’re a tiger, not a dog. Look at yourself.” Mr.Rizzo walked away.

Erik looked at his hands and noticed multiple stripes had appeared. He became scared and started crying as he searched the rest of his body. He felt the cat ears on top of his head, and the tail sticking out. He was scared and angry, both at the same time. He wasn’t sure what to do. Scream? Cry? Stay quiet? Suddenly, he heard a door open along with the laughter of his Mother.

“Mom! Mom! Get me out of here! PLEASE!” Erik shook the bars.

His Mother looked at him in disbelief. She wondered what had happened to her son, why did he look like this? She suddenly became scared of her own son. His father was outraged, he went looking for Mr.Rizzo.

“Mom! Let me out!” Erik cried out.

She didn’t move, she stood there staring at him in shock. Erik heard his father yelling from the other room. Erik looked across the room and saw a woman with an all white mask and red trench coat staring at him. She slowly waved at him. He became even more scared and backed up into the other side of the cage. He looked back at his mother to see her frantically looking through her bag. His father was still yelling, and it only got louder. He looked back to the woman, but she was gone.

2009: It had already been four years since Mr.Rizzo’s great experiment Erik’s father fired Mr.Rizzo and threw him out. He was now thirteen and his parents were doing everything they could to turn him back to normal, but it never got better. Over the years, it only got worse. Erik would suddenly have outbursts of anger, during this he would shape shift into a tiger. During one of his outbursts, he tore his father’s face off and ate him. To Erik, his father’s death meant nothing. His mother only became more and more stressed. One day during an experiment his mother explained that she would put him up for adoption. He didn’t care, he wanted to leave that awful laboratory.

2010: Someone finally agreed to adopt Erik. He was excited to leave the lab for once. His parents had to lock him up there 24/7. When the lady arrived to take Erik home, she looked familiar to him. She was wearing a red trench coat and a white mask. His mother looked concerned.

“I’m sorry, I’m not so sure I’m comfortable with my son going with you.” His mother whined.

“He’s not your kid anymore.” She grabbed Erik’s hand and left.

“Hey! Come back!” she yelled.

“Sad, she won’t even chase after you. Well, she did put you up for adoption.”

The lady giggled.

“What’s your name.” He said sternly.

“I’m Farake, I’m a vampire, that’s what the mask is for. I go around collecting kids that are psychopaths, sociopaths, and murderers and take them in as my own. I have two more at home, but I’m hoping to get more children.” She smiled.

“Okay…” He looked down at his feet.

“I noticed that not only are you a sociopath, but you’re slowly going insane Erik. You’re parents were not very good at comforting you with your outbursts and stress.” She squeezed his hand a bit.

“…….I feel like I’ve seen you before, but I don’t know where.” He struggled to remember.

“When you first woke up in that cage, and your parents came home.” She said. “So! Welcome to the family Erik!
